Shaun O’Hara’s wife Amy O’Hara was married to him on the tiny island of Anguilla, east of Puerto Rico. These types of weddings are generally pretty cool since the hot weather instills a more laid back vibe than you’d get in a stuffy, churchy affair. In general, outdoor weddings are pretty snazzy. I’ve seen the wedding photos from 2009 and it looks like it was a really lovely ceremony. Amy looks like she was having a great time. Of course, all the Giants were there, sweating in their thin white shirts.

A year before the wedding, Amy surprised Shaun with a surprise birthday party at a place called Retreat in New York City. According to Yelp, the place closed down a few years back, but I’m sure it was yet another good time. There’s a picture of Shaun kind of cradling Amy at the party, and it makes you think that as far as protection goes for girlfriends, you can’t do much better than an NFL center. Mr. O’Hara is a large fellow– around 6’3″ and over 300 pounds. In attendance at Shaun’s birthday party was teammate and buddy Eli Manning with his wife Abby. Abby looks strikingly similar to Amy. In fact, I think a lot of people would have trouble telling them apart if they just met them. The two ladies were present while Shaun got to blow out his candles on a cake with a picture of some football player wearing number 43 (not Shaun’s number). It was probably an inside joke of some sort. Anyway, Amy looks like she was having a ball.

Amy was a nurse when she met Shaun in 2004. He had some kind of leg infection and was sent to the hospital to have surgery, and Amy was one of the ladies who was taking care of him. I’m pretty sure she’s not a nurse any more, and I don’t really blame her as it’s a tough job.

Lawrence Taylor’s wife Lynette Taylor had candid comments regarding LT’s crime of seeing an underage prostitute. She said he is “a horny guy who did some dumb stuff.” Man, NFL players get off so light for crazy stuff! Like, if that had been the CEO of some company, the wife would be long gone and the guy would be a societal pariah. Lynette Taylor isn’t going anywhere, it seems. There was an article written for a publication called Capital that described the reaction of Lawrence Taylor and Lynette to of the documentary “LT: The Life & Times.” He apparently cried during the screening of the film, and Lynette was sitting next to him.

In the documentary, Lawrence Taylor’s wife was filmed at the wedding ceremony of one of LT’s daughters, and she said “I was sitting there saying, ‘What’s eating at him? What regret is he having?'” This was in reference to his crying (again) while watching his daughter getting married. Apparently LT had a mix of pride and remorse. Lawrence had a few wives before Lynette, and he is honest about how bad of a husband he was. One of them in the documentary essentially said that his ego and his wild ways made it impossible to live with him.

In regards to the underage girl, Lynette was on Larry King back in 2010 and claimed that the story got a little mixed up. The girl had been brought to the town where LT was staying for an autograph signing by a pimp, and she had climbed into the window of his room, and LT gave her 300 dollars to try to help her out because she was going through some tough times. Who really knows what went down in there at all. I’m not really that interested in knowing either, since it’s possibly none too wholesome.

Who really knows what happened here? I guess we have to go with what Odell said about the girl. Erica Mendez apparently was not Odell Beckham’s girlfriend. This is old news to anyone who ever followed the guy. However, it became a story at the time so we should note it. Mendez basically alleged all kinds of things about Odell. She said they were engaged. She said she caught him in some kind of amazing threesome with hot strippers. It sounds to me like a wild tale, but we sort of have to say that since Odell possesses a legal and PR team!  Oh and also because there’s not a shred of evidence that they ever knew each other (and lots of shreds that they certainly never dated if they did).  If she made it all up, it’s incredibly irritating for Mr. Beckham. Let’s move on…

Odell Beckham’s Girlfriend Sophie Campise

This seems to be one of the very first solid relationships that became well known for Beckham fans. At the time, I mentioned the first photo of them together came from 2012. It appeared on Sophie’s social media account. Now, it looks like she erased that entire account. She probably hated the spotlight. I don’t blame her at all. The two met in college, and Sophie transferred to another school midway through her academic career. I should also note it wasn’t the same school as Odell. She played soccer in college. She lived in Texas for awhile after she graduated in 2013. Sophie also traveled up to New York to watch Odell play a bunch of times.

We barely mentioned anything about Odell Beckham’s girlfriend Stephanie when it happened. However, both Black Sports Online and Maxim jumped on the story. We covered it in May of 2016. Stephanie Acevedo is a singer who you might say is busting out, if you catch my drift. Have a look at her social media and you will agree. Well, she certainly committed to a particular social media strategy. She loves to wear the eye-catching threads and strike a pose. She currently boasts a healthy 313,000 followers on Instagram as of mid July, 2017.

This one was also pretty weird since Odell likes to get out there and mix it up. I think you also need to possess a sense of humor about this story. It appears Odell went on a date to the Grammy Awards with Zendaya and also her Dad. Yes, you read that correctly. Her Dad chaperoned. You should also remember Zendaya is still really young. They appeared to be feeling okay at the show, but it did look super awkward. Was she ever Odell Beckham’s girlfriend? I doubt it. Her father even called it an “audition” and told people when they see her together with him and without her father, then it’s real. Moving on…

Was Odell Beckham Jr’s Girlfriend Amber Rose?

I always liked Amber Rose. She’s clearly a very savvy social media user. Could you ever call her Odell Beckham Jr’s girlfriend? These terms are never black and white with Mr. Beckham. It always appears to be a grey zone. TMZ reported they started texting and dating at various times. I’m also familiar with Amber’s dating history, and I think she always held a soft spot for Wiz Khalifa. She expressed a deep fondness for him. However, she also thinks Odell is a cool guy. Odell also dug her, no doubt. What’s not to like? As long as you can get past the occasional gross-out social media post, she’s great! Amber boasts nearly 16 million followers on Instagram right now. She even runs her own line of sunglasses. They look nice on her too!

Well, Odell Beckham’s girlfriend owns a crazy exotic name. She also owns a beautifully exotic look too! According to TMZ, these guys started dating in April of 2017. They also clearly traveled to Cancun together in July. Then they hit Tulum, which is a beautiful resort town in Mexico. She appears to be in love with Odell. Polyxeni posted a picture on social media of a dozen hearts and said “pitter patter” with her in the middle of the picture. It seems obvious there’s some good vibes and chemistry at play here since they started dating months ago and now travel to locales like this!

Evan Engram’s mom Michelle Zelina showed up in several high-tier newspapers in 2017. Let’s step away from focusing on Evan Engram’s girlfriend for a moment. Both The Daily News and The New York Post featured her in articles in August and April, respectively. So what’s the story? For starters, she takes credit as the lynchpin in his development. The story in The Daily News from April centered on a talk she gave him in a parking lot. According to her, he strayed from the path of football success. He hung out with a group of kids in high school that distracted him from his goals. He also lied to his parents a few times. Do teenagers do this? Sometimes, yes they do.

So what did Evan Engram’s mother tell him? Outside of Walmart, she simply told him he could accomplish his goals. However, she also told him he was headed in the wrong direction. He said the talk stuck with him in his mind. It helped to motivate and focus him. Michelle also threatened to suspend them from athletics. That included games and practices. Things changed after that. In an interview for therebelwalk.com from 2015, Michelle also highlighted Evan’s faith. They asked her what helped him gain leadership skills. She explained her husband divorced her when he was only five. She said although he did not grow up in a two-parent household, both parents always held him accountable. Michelle said the coaching staff at Ole Miss did the same.

During his college seasons, Evan Engram’s mom traveled to many of the games. She posted pictures of her and her dog Lady in the car. So even without Evan Engram’s girlfriend in the picture, his mother actively supported him. In May of 2017, Evan said a thousand thank-you’s are not enough to express his appreciation. It should also be noted that Evan Engram’s sister, Mackenzie, appears quite often in his social media feed. She plays basketball for the University of Georgia. He himself told her that her dreams will materialize in due time. He said both their visions are clear.

In the Daily News interview, Evan Engram’s mother also described Evan as a person in his sister’s shadow. She said it was a sibling rivalry thing, but it changed in college. Evan’s sister said she knew it was difficult for Evan when she became the first one recruited for college. Now, Evan plays in the NFL and fulfilled his dreams.

Evan Engram’s sister Mackenzie Engram is a talented young lady who attends the University of Georgia. And no folks. We’re still not talking about Evan Engram’s girlfriend. Evan Engram’s sister stands 6’2″ and averages 11.2 points per game. She also entered her senior year in 2017. Her team bio says she involves herself heavily with the community and helps out with the Special Olympics. Of course, she comes from the same place that Evan does. Their town is Powder Springs in Georgia. Her college newspaper, The Red & Black, featured her in a long story about her and her brother. It mentioned they both played fiercely competitive games of one-on-one basketball in their driveway. Since he won every game, Mackenzie says she usually cried after they played.

The article says she finally won a game on Christmas Day. However, Evan Engram’s sister suspects he let her win as a Christmas present. The last great quote from that article is about how she thought of herself. She said she hated when people called her Evan Engram’s sister because she felt she was a better athlete. Now that is confidence. Regardless of who is a better athlete, Mackenzie also maintains a very detailed online journal. She talks at length about personal developments and struggles. For example, she recently talked about a person she “let go” in her life.

In the entry, Evan Engram’s sister says she feels people hold onto “toxic” individuals who need to be let go. She refers to “people that aren’t worth our time anymore” and questions their value. She then introduces a binary system to classify people with. Mackenzie says the two types of people are those that hold on to toxic individuals and those that let go “the second they feel the burn.” Is she falling into a reductionist trap and oversimplifying her outlook? She clearly experienced a bad relationship with someone and felt she could no longer maintain contact with them. She speaks at length about the nature of the person whom caused her pain. Mackenzie also says the person who caused her pain would not help her to heal.

Evan Engram’s sister also bluntly admits she struggles to “be her own person” and accept herself for who she is. In her blog, she says she possesses very low self esteem and constantly looks for ways to improve her self-image. Mackenzie speaks of a “hole” that is within her. She says she wrote about this because she knows she’s not the only one. She writes over and over to release the pressures she puts upon herself.

Saquon Barkley’s girlfriend Anna Congdon is a graduate of Penn State University.  They clearly met at college, and Anna also keeps a few nifty quotes about the school. She says their school is the place where the girls are always hot and the beer is ice cold. Ah, college life.  Back before……

That’s right folks.  Just days before the Giants took Saquon at #2 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, the running back suddenly cancelled media appearances.  And, with good reason.  Jada Clare Barkley was born on April 24.   Saquon took to Instagram to share his feelings.

But, back before the baby.

Saquon Barkley’s girlfriend graduated in June of 2016. She appeared with the graduation robes in June of 2016. A month later, she kicked back with friends and attended a Toby Keith concert in Bethel Woods. Anna joined the sorority Pi Kappa Phi to find some girls she could bond with at school. She mentioned the sorority on social media.

Anna used to date another college football player named Jake back in 2015. That means Saquon Barkley’s girlfriend started to date her sometime after August of that year. So the relationship is relatively new but not brand new. Anna boasts over 12,000 followers on social media because she’s super hot. She also hangs out with a bunch of blonde girls that look exactly like her. In July, she took a short vacation in Cape Cod and spent time on a boat. Anna loves to work on her tan.

Before Anna went to Cape Cod, she spent time with Saquon in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Scranton is also the home of the fictitious Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in the show The Office. In the photo from she shared of Saquon with her, she said it only took five months of dating before Saquon came to a concert with her. The photo came from June. So that seemingly answers the question I posed in the previous paragraph. According to Anna, Saquon Barkley’s girlfriend started dating him in February of 2017. However, that doesn’t quite make sense to me since she posted a photo of them snuggling in the middle of December. I guess they weren’t official then. That photo also appeared at the location of Pi Kappa Phi. Was it a sorority and fraternity get-together?

So uhh, I’m not sure if you’ve heard about Osi Umenyiora’s wife Leila Lopes marrying him and then immediately getting an onslaught of “red flags” from the internet (whether they were real or not is anyone’s guess). So let’s get into it a little…

An Instagram account was opened and purported to show a bunch of text message exchanges from Osi and some girl detailing a relationship they were alleged to be having during his engagement to Leila. Umenyiora’s camp wants us to know that they were fabricated, and they do sort of come off as a little contrived. Whether or not they were made up is up to the courts now. The Instagram account has been taken down and Osi claims an “appropriate legal recourse” is now being taken. I sort of wonder what that entails, but for now I’d rather just focus on Osi Umenyiora’s wife Leila Lopes and not hypothesizing since it’s not worth spending time wondering if some dude was trying to scam Umenyiora for god knows what reason.

Leila Lopes was Miss Universe 2011. That right there is pretty dang impressive even though I’m not usually impressed by beauty pageant contestants. The thing is– if you’re going to be in a beauty pageant, you should try to go big, and that’s exactly what Leila was able to do. She won the pageant in 2011, beating out 16 semi-finalists. I don’t even know how these things are run, but I guess that makes her a real catch. Apparently the crown for Miss Universe has 1371 gemstones on it and weighs 416 carats. It looks to me like Osi Umenyiora’s wife Leila Lopes frequently attends modeling competitions and hosts events. Apparently if you win Miss Universe you’re sort of in the circle for a circuit of events. All seems to be fine on the relationship front with Osi, and my best guess is that the Instagram count was a total sham.

Daniel Jones’ girlfriend Ella Bonafede needs to be ready to a major life changes.  There’s a whole lot coming to them both in the coming months.

What pray tell, do you mean?

Welp, let’s start at the top.

• Ella is a college senior at Duke, playing for the Women’s Lacrosse team.  In fact, she couldn’t be at the draft with Daniel, as she was in Massachusetts playing in the ACC playoffs.  Any college athlete may experience some turmoil as their playing days wind down.
• But that’s not it.  Daniel Jones’ girlfriend is a college senior heading out into the big bad world.  She’s a three time, and likely about to be four time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.  Meaning, that her status of WAG isn’t about to impede her career goals that happens to so many that take college sweethearts to their new cities.  The big bad world is calling and where is that big bad world taking them?
• Well, Ella Bonafede saw her boyfriend get drafted to the Giants at #6 overall last night.  Most consider taking him there as a bit of a reach.  But, the Giants wanted their man, and they took him.  The pick was,… well,… um…. it wasn’t given the greatest grade by Giants fans.

You think any college senior is ready for this sort of attention?  You think anyone is ready for this sort of attention at all?

But good news.  It’s not all foreign for Daniel Jones’ girlfriend Ella Bonafede.

Despite all the transitions set to take place in the next couple months, Ella is about to prove the exception to the rule that ‘you can’t go home again’.  Daniel Jones’ girlfriend hails from Bay Shore, New York.  The Long Island town is a quick hour drive to and from Metlife Stadium (well without traffic).  Ella was a standout lacrosse player at St. Anthony’s, leading her team to CHSAA league titles every year in high school.  Other high school accolades include twice being championship game MVP, twice gaining all-league honors, and twice being tabbed as an All American.  As a sophomore she was named an Under Armour Underclass All-American, and a senior named US Lacrosse Academic All-American.  Impressive resume.

Back in 2015, Ella named Julian Edelman her favorite athlete on the Duke Athletics website.  Gee, you think that’s changed now?

Golden Tate’s wife Elise Tate, 2019 Update

Conceiving a child can be hard work.  And when fertility issues arise, things can be even harder.  And unfortunately Golden Tate’s wife, Elise Tate is right in the middle of the disappointing news that the NFL is suspending her husband for four games in 2019.

Golden Tate has been suspended for,… fertility treatment.  Tyreek Hill plays, and Golden Tate sits.  It’s a gross double standard where one guy plays with his cards on the table with openness, honesty and candor about a struggle so many millions of Americans suffer through.

Another dude is known to have abused women, is recorded to have threatened women, and is alleged to have broken his child’s arm,…. and the NFL says everything is kosher.  Got it.

Stay Classy, NFL.  Keep punishing the good ones.

Golden Tate’s wife Elise Tate, 2018 Update

Man, time flies.  I remember writing this post the first time after Golden Tate caught a hail mary game winner in Seattle.

Then I remember Matthew Stafford’s wife welcoming Golden Tate’s wife to Detroit.

And those were 6 and 4 years ago.  Time flies.

But, a lot has happened in four years.  Like a wedding for one.  That’s right, in 2017, Golden Tate and Elise Pollard married up, and made it official.  In January, 2018, the couple had their first child, a daughter Londyn Marie Tate.  And there’s another kiddo on the way.  These two have been together for years, and now on their third NFL team are making it work.  Fun couple to watch grow up together.

UPDATE 03/13/2014:

It’s one thing to welcome the player. It’s one thing to welcome the family. But Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly Hall went out of her way to welcome new Detroit receiver Golden Tate’s girlfriend Elise Pollard to Detroit City.

After Golden Tate signed with the Lions and gave Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson the reliable number 2 receiver they’ve desperately needed, Stafford’s girlfriend Kelly Hall took to Instagram to announce her excitement with the signing:

So there’s romances, and bromances. What is this? WAGmance? That sounds dumb. I’m ending this update.

Most of the world never heard of Golden Tate before last night (OK, Notre Dame fans, Seahawks fans, guys who like to drunkenly steal Maple Bars, and fantasy football sleeper junkies have heard of him). Golden Tate entered the national landscape last night with the catch that probably wasn’t against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Tate was credited with the game winning TD catch, though most replays seem to indicate he didn’t actually come down with the ball.

You all know the catch. And after the game, Golden Tate’s girlfriend Elisa Pollard took to Twitter to brag about the catch and show off the game ball. Pollard tweeted the pic on the right as well as the saying, “Soo freaking happy 4 my baby! Both game balls!! Came out and dropped those 4 the hugs & kisses Love you!”

Elise Pollard is understandably supportive of Tate, and has many tweets showing Seahawk love and support. It’s not clear how long Tate and Pollard have been together for, and there’s very little information about her otherwise.

Devonta Freeman’s girlfriend Malikah Nash is mysterious.

Red Thang?

For months, “Red Thang” was the only way anyone knew her on social media. Other than that, I could not find her real name. Devonta calls her “Red Thang” for unknown reasons. What I can tell you, however, is they travel on vacations to exotic places whenever they get the chance. One good example is Disney World. Since they got together for at least two years, they traveled to sunny beaches and tropical jungles. Maybe he calls her “Red Thang” because she cooks in the sun too much.

She also took him zip-lining for his birthday. Devonta Freeman’s girlfriend knows good activities. Personally, I don’t like zip-lining that much because it’s always slower than what I think it’s going to be. It’s still a cool experience, and Devonta characterized it as such. In February, Devonta and miss “Red Thang” traveled to Hawaii and did some beach activities. The date doesn’t match up with the Pro Bowl date, but it is possible. If I were a pro footballer, I would not want to hang around Hawaii for multiple weeks after the Pro Bowl. I’d want to get back to training, and I think Devonta is the same way. However, who’s to say he wasn’t training in Hawaii?

Anything other than that?

There’s not that much more information on Devonta Freeman’s girlfriend other than the internet is unhappy with him. I have a a suspicion she actually posted on a popular forum about him, defending him. Many people were talking smack about him and saying this and that. That’s just the internet for you. I mean, come on guys. He took his lady to Disney World! Cut the guy a break. The poster on the forum included the note: “Everyone makes mistakes.” The best way to make up for any mistakes, in my mind, is to bring the offended party to Disney World! You can burn my house down, but if there’s a ticket to Disney, you’re on the right track.
